Introduction
Home Up Trisection of Angles Guest book Guestbook Log

I consider myself to be a philosopher and I will devote this section of my site to the present state of the development of insights I had in the mid to late '50's.

During that time I wrote a book which developed those insights but it was never published. The intervening years substantiated those ideas as being very fundamental and important. Many of the serious works that have crossed my path seemed to be groping for some of those insights, most of such works could have benefited from them. Very frustrating!

I can't do anything with Plato, Socrates, or Descartes except to try to understand some of the subtleties of their work. I can, however, pick a few bones with my contemporaries as I find them on the web, in newsgroups, or perhaps, with a little luck, from comments of those who find me here. My intentions are not to be argumentative. I really have no ax to grind. I will try to present my knowledge as simply as possible, and I will bend over backwards to work with anyone who is honestly seeking Truth.
Devil's advocates are not welcome!

My approach is basically from a common sense point of view. Although I do not intentionally wish to hurt anyone's feelings, I am not known for my tact. I honestly believe that my work is more important than I am, so that I really don't care what you think of me. If I find that a position is stupid, I might just say so.

For example: There are people who actually believe that they have no free will. That's stupid! What can you say to a person who chooses to believe that they cannot choose? I honestly don't see how I can insult such a person, since from their point of view I have no control over the matter. I have no choice but to do so! Do you think that they would cry if every time they turned on their monitor or TV they were greeted with "Hello, Stupid" ?

It just so happens that an understanding of values and free will are essential to an understanding of man's nature and of the ability to think. They are the "first derivatives" of the basic insights that were my starting points and they are the focus of my earlier work which will be presented in the section on the nature of thinking.
